Central Pennsylvania Progressive Issues Breakfast: Hate Crime in Pennsylvania

Barry Ruback is Professor of Criminology and Sociology at Penn State and is faculty consultant to the Pennsylvania Commission on Sentencing. Dr. Ruback’s primary interests include the predictors and consequences of sentencing decisions, and decision making of crime victims. He has a longstanding interest in criminal victimization and crime victims’ reporting to the police, and especially the occurrence and reporting of hate crimes in Pennsylvania. Dr. Ruback has authored more than 100 scholarly articles and books. He has been the recipient of numerous Fulbright Fellowships, and served as Judicial Fellow of the Supreme Court of the United States assigned to the U.S. Sentencing Commission (1995-1996), and is currently Visiting Fellow of the Bureau of Justice Statistics, U.S. Department of Justice (2017-2019).
