CPD Workshop: Disability Hate Crime

21st October 2015, 9:30-3:30pm, University of Leicester

Using the findings from Britain’s biggest study of hate crime victimisation, this workshop has been developed to equip practitioners with the knowledge and skills they need to respond to the challenges posed by disability hate crime.

The purpose of this workshop is to:

Enhance knowledge of the nature and extent of hate crime suffered by people with physical disabilities, learning disabilities and mental ill-health

  • Develop understanding of the emotional, physical and health impact of disability hate crime
  • Improve practitioner’s skills and understanding of how best to support victims and those at risk of hate crime victimisation
  • Provide practitioners with the appropriate tools and best practice guidance to improve responses to disability hate crime
