Hate crime conference with focus on racial hatred and Islamophobia

The conference is organised by West Wiltshire Multi Faith Forum (WWMFF) in partnership with Wiltshire Islamic Cultural Centre.

Speakers include:

Prof. David Miller

David Miller is Professor of Political Sociology at the University of Bristol. His research interests mainly revolve around the role of communication in the constitution and reproduction of power relations. From 2013-2016 he was RCUK Global Uncertainties Leadership Fellow leading a project on understanding and explaining terrorism expertise in practice. David is on the editorial boards of several journals and has written extensive articles and several books, which are listed on his website (www.dmiller.info).

Fadoua Govaerts Elbadawy

Fadoua is of Moroccan and Belgian heritage and has lived in the UK for the past 15 years. She has personally experienced hate crime and will be drawing from her experiences and knowledge to encourage people from all faiths and races to recognise our own biases contributing to discrimination and hate.
