Refugee Week Film Festival Screening: Evaporating Borders

Thursday 18 June 2015, 18:30-20:30pm, Nottingham

Evaporating Borders (Directed by Iva Radivojevic, 2014, 73 mins) focuses on the lives of asylum seekers and refugees in Cyprus who are confronted by bureaucracy, destitution and appalling conditions in run-down camps and face hostility and racism. The film reflects upon issues relating to refugees in Europe today, in particular questions of identity and the meaning of nation and nationality.

There will also be a panel discussion featuring local refugees together with Roger Bromley and Helen O’Nions from the Nottingham universities.

This event is taking place at New Art Exchange, 39-41 Gregory Boulevard, NG7 6BE Nottingham.
