Prevention, Protection, Prosecution: The Next Steps to Tackle Hate Crime in Every Community

Wednesday 20th May 2015, 10:15 – 4:30pm

Since the murder of Stephen Lawrence, much progress has been made in tackling hate crime in the community. Victims now have greater legal protection, the police and their partners have a better understanding of hate crime alongside improved responses, and enhanced sentencing powers available to the courts reflect the seriousness of offences. There is, however, much work to do before hate crime is eliminated in the UK.

This symposium offers an opportunity for local authorities, police, legal professionals, equality and third sector practitioners and other key stakeholders to examine how to build on the developments of the past two years and identify the next steps to tackling hate crime in all its forms, in every community. This event is taking place in Central London.Find out more information here: http://www.publicpolicyexchange.co.uk/events/FE20-PPE?ss=em&tg=1aBook your place here: https://www.publicpolicyexchange.co.uk/book.php?event=FE20-PPE&ss=em&tg=1d
