Safer Communities – Resource Packs Launch Event

Barnardo’s Positive Identities Service works to raise awareness around sexual identities and gender identities, and prevent discrimination and prejudice. They support young people who identify as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual Trans and Questioning (LGBTQ) and work to tackle Homophobic, Biphobic and Transphobic (HBT) discrimination and bullying, striving for a more equal society in which everyone feels able to be proud of and celebrate who they are. With funding from the West Yorkshire Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) they have developed 5 resources packs to increase awareness of the additional vulnerabilities LGBTQ young people can encounter in relation to:

· Hate Crime
· Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE)
· Internet Safety
· Domestic Violence
· Faith, Culture & Belief.

This event will be launching the packs that have been developed by Barnardo’s & West Yorkshire Police. The 5 resource packs will be available as a free resource for all following the launch event.
