Scottish RJ Practitioner Network

As restorative justice increases in prominence and use, it is critical that practitioners have the opportunity to learn from and share knowledge with each other to support best practice and improve the quality of service we provide to those we work with. It is intended that these events will take place on a quarterly basis beginning with this event.

Each will have a focus on a particular theme with inputs from prominent individuals on the subject matter. Participants will be encouraged to share their experiences and areas of work to generate discussion and explore ideas.

The first event of 2017 will be on the subject of hate crime. The use of RJ in sectarian, racial and homophobic crimes among others will be explored. Rania Hamad, Senior Criminal Justice Social Work Practitioner at City of Edinburgh Council and Dr Michael Rosie, Senior Lecturer in Sociology at Edinburgh University will present on their roles and exciting areas of work.
