Bristol Cable Members Meeting

Journalist Q&A/Our Journalism discussion

On March 4th, two days before our next members’ meeting, a far-right demonstration is planned in Bristol.

Previous far-right activity in Bristol has included the attack on Jamia Mosque, Totterdown, in January 2016. Around the same time, the Cable exposed an increase in religiously-motivated hate crimes recorded by Avon and Somerset Police. Last June, a far-right demonstration prompted mass police mobilisations, huge anti-fascist counter-protests and severe disruption in the city centre.

We will spend half of the March members’ meeting in a facilitated discussion, asking the questions: How should we report on far-right activity in Bristol? How should we as citizens respond to the far-right presence in our city?

Please come along to add the discussion.
