Special Screening of Black Roses: The Killing of Sophie Lancaster+Q&A

Thursday 16 June 2016, 18:30-20:00, Derby

Derby Homes are hosting this event in partnership with the Sophie Lancaster Foundation and the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner to raise awareness of hate crime in Derby and Derbyshire. Members of the public are invited to a free screening of “Black Roses” followed by a 30-minute question and answer session with Sophie’s mother, Sylvia Lancaster OBE.

Black Roses is written as an elegy to Sophie with poetry by Simon Armitage spoken alongside the words of Sophie’s mother. The film moves seamlessly from Sylvia’s candid descriptions of Sophie’s life and death.
