Supporting LGBTQ Students at University

Friday 24 July 2015, 10:30am-16:15pm, Sheffield

Lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans* and queer/questioning (LGBTQ) young people are increasingly visible in policy and practice, often in relation to homophobic, biphobic and transphobic bullying. However, this can result in misunderstandings, and/or over-simplification about all LGBTQ students’ needs and experiences.

The conference is designed to feedback on the #FreshersToFinals project, and explore the implications for practice in higher education. The research is being undertaken by Sheffield Hallam University and seeks to develop a fuller understanding of LGBTQ students’ experiences of higher education. The conference will be particularly useful for those who work in higher education, whether in academic, support or managerial roles.

This event is taking place at Sheffield Hallam University – City Campus, Howard Street, S1 1WB, Sheffield.
